Carshalton All Saints' Parish Church

Hamish reports: “I attended Sunday morning service at All Saints’ Church, Carshalton as I do very occasionally after delivering some FOCUS leaflets in the area and as a former resident of the Parish of Carshalton. My deceased wife Josephine (d. 2007) and I were married there in 1991. It is really a fabulous church, particularly the interior which has improved immeasurably under the auspices of the current incumbent Father John Thewlis and his excellent, hard-working team, and I think it is one of the loveliest interiors of any Parish Church. Photographs of the church appear in the newly-published book by Sir John Betjeman on “Best British Churches“. According to a display, the church itself is apprently in need of extra funds and looking to raise at least £50,000 extra per year just to balance the books.
