An attractive view below was taken on 1st March of the Wandle and the Old Mill by Butter Hill bridge at the north-east end of Mill Lane, Carshalton.

Carshalton’s traditional industries which included printing, paper making, and later special chemicals and so forth were largely based on the River Wandle  many decades ago. The modern housing on the right was designed in the late 1980s/early 1990s by the firm of architects that used to employ Cllr. Hamish Pollock over a quarter of a century ago!
