Carshalton Central ward councillors have written on behalf of local residents to the council’s licensing authorities expressing strong concerns about the current rather dilapidated state of the “antique” pub Fox and Hounds Public House at the eastern end of the High Street and within the Conservation Area. 

Cllr. Hamish Pollock visited the pub a few days’ ago and noted large areas of peeling paintwork to the windows, doors and fascia boards etc. as well as lots of loose roof tiles, broken windows etc. He also spoke briefly to the pub’s manager about the sad state of the pub and was told that the pub’s owners were planning to redecorate it in coming months.
