The Sutton War Memorial in Manor Park is being given a good clean and mend this year. Hamish took this photograph today 12th April.  

Following requests by Carshalton Central councillors Jill Whitehead and Hamish Pollock to council officers some months ago, all six of the borough’s memorials including Sutton’s and Carshalton’s are getting this treatment in time for the commemorative events later this year which will be marking the Centenary of the oubreak of the Great War (1914-1918). 

Other WW1 memorials are at Worcester Park, Belmont, Cheam and Wallington.
