News just in from the council’s streetworks officer….
Dear Councillors
The telecommunications mast at the north end of Harrow Road (Carshalton Road) needs to be replaced. To do this requires a crane, which in turn requires parking suspensions and a road closure.
The closure will only be from Carshalton Road along the frontage of Hillside Motors, up to their boundary with the first block of maisonettes. Residents and the St John’s Brigade hall will not be affected. (Other of course that the road is closed).
The official diversion will be Wales Avenue and Cambridge Road. But I am sure the locals will not get lost, or probably find their own way. I expect the works to take four days and they are starting about the 24th April.
